Aleatica has developed a standard aimed at establishing the principles, processes, documentation, and controls that each Business Unit must follow when purchasing goods, works, and services.
This standard contains several principles, among which the principle of sustainability includes environmental issues:
In 2023, 108 suppliers were evaluated on Sustainability criteria.
106 of them presented low risk that did not require additional consideration, and two presented medium risk, requiring a more in-depth analysis to determine appropriate safeguards.
Various controls have been implemented to ensure that the best suppliers are selected,
including compliance, technical, and financial analyses, as part of the Third-Party Approval process. Since 2022, a Sustainability evaluation has been included in the Technical Analysis for services and contracts with potential social and environmental impacts. The Occupational Health and Safety analysis has also been strengthened to ensure that supplier activities comply with legal requirements and necessary standards.
The procurement team closely monitors contractual performance and conducts feedback sessions with contractors and suppliers. Supplier performance is documented in the Single Register of Suppliers based on post-service evaluations.
During the contracting process, the legal department verifies compliance with legal requirements according to the Procurement and Contracting Standard and applicable legislation.
Each purchase follows the approval process defined in the Delegation of Authorities Policy. Audits are conducted to review the design and execution of controls in the procurement process.
To minimize risks, Aleatica enforces a Code of Ethics and Conduct that covers legal compliance, human rights, non-discrimination, occupational health and safety, data privacy, competition, money laundering prevention, and environmental protection. Suppliers sign Aleatica’s Supplier Code of Conduct, which extends the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct, setting ethical guidelines for suppliers and ensuring adherence to anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws.
Since 2023, Aleatica has been implementing improvements
to this procuring process and that is why it is currently implementing an ESG questionnaire for new suppliers in order to identify risks and opportunities with respect to labor, social, environmental and ethical behavior practices. This allows us to identify areas for improvement and align with ESG principles.
