We are committed to preserving biodiversity and ecosystems, integrating nature into our operational decisions to ensure a sustainable future across all our Business Units.

As part of our commitment to the environment, we recognise the importance of conserving ecosystems and biodiversity to ensure the resilience of our operations.

We comply with environmental legislation across all our Business Units and integrate nature into our decisions, following the guidelines of the Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).

In 2025, our business strategy reaffirmed biodiversity as a core principle guiding the design and development of infrastructure, aligning business decisions with ecosystem conservation and long-term sustainability.

Biodiversity impact assessments

Stages of biodiversity impact assessment

1. Biodiversity diagnosis

An initial assessment to gain a comprehensive understanding of the ecosystems and species present in our areas of influence and to define conservation actions tailored to the specific needs of each Business Unit.

2. Impact management plan

Based on the diagnostic results, we design a plan that outlines measures to prevent, mitigate, and, where appropriate, restore impacts on ecosystems, with clear priorities, responsibilities, and specific actions

3. Implementation

We carry out the defined actions, integrating them into our operational and maintenance activities. Their implementation allows for monitoring the effectiveness of the measures taken.

In 2025, we completed assessing our Business Units AUNOR (Peru) and A35 Brebemi (Italy).

AP, ARM, and PI are still in the impact management phase, implementing their biodiversity plans through reforestation, species relocation programs, and wildlife sighting monitoring. Next, we plan to extend this initiative to M6toll in the United Kingdom and reinforce the implementation of existing plans at ARM, AT-AT, AUNOR and Brebemi, gradually aligning them with the TNFD framework.

Impact metrics and changes in ecosystems

Starting in 2021, we gradually strengthened our biodiversity monitoring at AUNOR, which has enabled us to observe a sustained recovery in species richness. In 2025, recorded plant diversity reached its highest historical level, reflecting a consistent recovery of vegetation in our areas of influence.

Fauna Vial mobile app

Autopista Río Magdalena (ARM)

At ARM, we collate data from the Fauna Vial mobile app, which allows people to report sightings, roadkill and injured animals. In 2025, we doubled the number of reports compared to 2024, reflecting greater adoption of the tool and a stronger culture of reporting and follow-up.

The increase in reports of affected wildlife presents an opportunity to focus preventive and corrective actions on critical points, optimising data-driven decision-making. Additionally, we provide training to Business Unit personnel on primary care for wildlife found on roads.

Pollinator conservation

A35 Brebemi (Italy)

As part of an initiative to monitor the environment and conserve pollinating insects, we continued the “smart hive” project at the Biodiversity Oasis on A35 Brebemi. Through sensor-equipped apiaries, we continuously monitor the health of bees, which are recognised as a key indicator of the balance and quality of surrounding ecosystems. Bee behaviour acts as an early warning signal for climatic events like sudden drops in temperature or heavy rainfall, thereby reinforcing a preventive approach to environmental management.

Financial impacts of biodiversity management

Biodiversity management at Aleatica influences financial performance and business continuity. Early identification of impacts and risks to ecosystems enables us to anticipate regulatory requirements, reduce delays in obtaining authorisations and avoid the costs associated with unplanned corrective measures. Environmental conservation and monitoring efforts help reduce operational and legal risks, as well as protect the value of assets throughout their useful life.
