Road Safety
As part of implementing the road safety strategy and its Accident Reduction Program (PRA) from 2020 to 2025, we have focused on integrated road safety management within our Business Units. This process has reaffirmed our Safety First fundamental pillar.
In 2025, as part of our innovation in motion processes, we structured our new Aleatica Road Safety Strategy to 2030 (Estrategia de Seguridad Vial de Aleatica 2030, ESVA2030).
This strategic roadmap will enter its full implementation phase in 2026 and is aligned with the UN’s Second Decade of Action for Road Safety and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Road safety governance
Our General Management leads the road safety governance structure. The Centre of Operational Excellence (COE) management oversees and coordinates strategic actions, while the Road Safety Director leads specific processes, supported by the Road Safety managers in each Business Unit. We operate five distinct committees, ranging from Executive Management to operational staff.
Safe System Approach
Our strategic implementation is divided into six key components:
Safe infrastructure
Safe people using the service
Safe vehicles
Safe speed
Post-accident response
Safe organisation
Strategic areas and action plans
We structure our operations around ten strategic priority areas:
01
Forgiving roads
02
Reduction of critical accidents
03
Protection of vulnerable people using the road
04
Management of behavioural factors
05
Speed control
06
Optimisation of post-accident response
07
Big data analysis
08
Proactive inspections
09
Safe maintenance
10
Strengthening institutional management capacity.
The strategy is implemented through four complementary plans: the Road Safety Master Plan, Annual Operational Programs, Accident Reduction Programs (Programas de Reducción de Accidentes, PRA), and Special Road Safety Projects (Proyectos Especiales de Seguridad Vial, PESV).
The Aleatica Foundation and its contribution to ESVA2030
The Aleatica Foundation for Road Safety (Fundación Aleatica para la Seguridad Vial) serves as our technical and social arm, focusing its efforts on accidents outside the group. Its contribution focuses on three areas: influencing public policy, raising awareness through educational campaigns, and generating technical and scientific knowledge.
