We recognise that efficient resource and waste management is essential for environmental sustainability. We are committed to adopting a circular economy model, focusing on maximising the use of resources and minimising waste.

Our approach encompasses waste reduction, reuse, recycling and recovery to protect natural resources, combat climate change and promote a sustainable future.

In 2025, we took a significant step forward by finalising our first internal Circular Economy Guide, which sets out common criteria and practical guidance for integrating circularity into the company’s operations.

Non-Hazardous Waste

Non-hazardous waste accounts for the largest volume of waste generated in our operations. In 2025, we focused our efforts on source sorting and recovery through reuse, recovery and recycling programs, achieving an overall recovery rate of 78.69%.

Share of total recovery

We manage 100% of our hazardous waste in accordance with specific controls, which include identification, temporary storage, safe handling and final disposal through authorised contractors and sites, in compliance with applicable regulations and the guidelines set out in our Environmental Policy. In 2025, we reduced the generation of hazardous waste by approximately 25% compared with the previous year.

We implement responsible environmental practices through strategic initiatives within our Business Units:

  • Circular Economy program: We have finalised our first internal Circular Economy Guide, which sets out common criteria and practical guidance for integrating circularity into our operations.

Best practices for waste recovery:

Botellitas de Amor (ARM)
We create parks and community infrastructure by recycling various types of plastic into bottles made from the same material. This initiative will continue in the coming years.
Donation of milled material (AP)
Amozoc-Perote stood out for recycling large volumes of residual gravel from road maintenance, which was donated to nearby communities to pave dirt roads.
Zero Landfill (M6toll)
All waste generated by the Business Unit’s operations is recycled or used to produce energy by specialised providers.
Strategic alliances
We continue to collaborate with partners and specialised entities for waste recovery, reuse, and recycling.

Additionally, we have implemented innovative solutions in some Business Units, such as the use of recycled pavement at A35 and AUNOR. 

Achievement of waste recovery targets

In 2025, we achieved an overall recovery rate of 79% for our non-hazardous waste, far exceeding our 70% target. We strengthened training on the principles of the circular economy in our processes, enhancing our employees’ understanding of and involvement in sustainability practices.

Water management

Shared resources, responsible management.

At Aleatica, we recognise the importance of water as a resource. We believe that managing it responsibly is key to ensuring the sustainability of our operations and the well-being of the communities in which we operate. Although water consumption is not a key material topic in road infrastructure operations, it is in the operation of our ports, corporate offices, and maintenance activities.

Commitment and focus

Our commitment focuses on three areas of action:

Efficient water use

We optimise operational and maintenance processes to reduce water consumption.

Reuse and recycling

We prioritise the reuse of water in compatible activities, particularly in port operations and road maintenance.

Environmental protection

We prevent the contamination of bodies of water through proper management of hazardous waste (oils, greases, contaminated absorbents) and strict compliance with environmental regulations.

This approach is part of our Environmental Policy DSA-POLI-10 and the ISO 14001-certified Environmental Management Systems that we run in some of the Group’s Business Units.
